A new Hello!

This is me and H...we are trading the traditional greeting here by kissing each others hand. She is a beautiful little girl. I am having a great time, learning culture and language and learning how to keep my head cover on! Posted by Picasa

People, Camels, Banana Lady, and More!

Here is a great way to show off my new home and new country. This shows the people, the ways they yarp, the wildlife, and what we have to wear. We think J looks like the Chiquitta Banana Lady and she says I look like Mother Teresa. This is a part of a family that is very dear to us here, and the camels are our friends...or thats what they think because they have been hanging out in front of our house the past few evenings. Good times!

Old to New...and still having fun!

Well here is more of Africa...the top three pics are of a party we had here in the new place. There was dancing and singing and straight up jammin out the house. The middle row is a "Only in Africa moment" a man, on the roof, cleaning his satelite dish with a mop!! How could I resist such a great picture. Next is me and J in a phone booth after a very long walk after dinner when we decided to follow this road and see where we ended up....and well we eventually made it home. To the right of that is some of our friends and we just drank a mango shake...those things are Great! Last row...we were at our friends house celebrating their Cmas. Next was my great attempt to roast coffee beans on our stove...and lets just say that every window and door in our house had to be opened because I smoked out the whole house! I am sure we carried the aroma of coffee around for our remainder of time in that country. And next to the coffee pan is mine and J's attempt to make wheat thins from scratch and when I rolled it out it came out looking like Africa...our wheat thins turned out really well, but some of them received the new name of Wheat Thicks, if you know what I mean. We are learning though and the second batch came out better. Posted by Picasa

Little Italy in Africa!

So you will never guess where I ate tonight....well you might guess because the picture gives it away. I guess they thought they would change the name up a bit and make it unique, or plural one. It was actually really good and they had almost the exact menu as the home one. It is really funny though, because even if it is on the menu you have to ask if they have it or not...many times here resturants do not have like chicken for the chicken dishes, or veggies for certain dishes as well. It is really like "Here is our menu but...we only have the number 4." HAHA It is kind of helpful though if you have a tough time making decisions, because they can narrow it down for you! :) It was kind of a little taste of home though and we had a good time.

Don't Mess with these Charlie's Angels!

This is at the vet clinic that we did. In our hands we hold the vaccinating guns that brought much needed medicine to the animals. Charlie has kept us busy and we are up for another movie release this summer. Who would have thought we were going to shoot Charlie's Angels 3 in Africa? I think that just kind of puts a great twist on the adventure. Drew Barrymore and Cameron Diaz got nothing on these angels! I mean seriously we do all of our work in skirts!

Merry Cmas!

Merry Cmas! I had an excellent holiday season and it was my warmest Cmas by far. I never thought I would be so excited to get chips and salsa for Cmas! What a great gift! Posted by Picasa
